From Finals to Reflection

After exam period, Vianney senior high school finally got a well-deserved break with a fun-filled class meeting to wrap up the odd semester of 2024!. It was held on Friday, 13th December 2024, at school’s field. The event was a highlight for both students and teachers alike. It was the perfect way to recharge after the intense end-of-semester assessments. The day was packed with excitement, featuring competitions like futsal, basketball, mobile legends, and even chess. It was refreshing and joyful way to celebrate the semester’s end together!

Through the various competitions held during the class meeting, positive interactions and important life values were fostered. These including creativity (helping students develop strategies to win competitions), honesty (instilling the habit of sportsmanship), and teamwork (encouraging students to contribute to their team’s success).

All competitions in this event were mandatory for the nine classes of Vianney High School to participate in. For the futsal and basketball competition, each class sent a team consisting of 3 male players and 2 female players, using a plastic ball. A unique rule for this competition required all participants to wear daster (traditional loose dresses) as team costumes, with the size, material, and color left to their preference.

As for the basketball competition, the rules regarding participants and costumes were the same as in futsal. However, the main difference was that the teams used a standard basketball instead of a plastic one. This added a layer of challenge and excitement to the games!

The Mobile Legends and chess competitions were held after the basketball and futsal events concluded. These two competitions took place on the 3rd floor of Vianney High School, utilizing the multipurpose room, classrooms, and the entire school corridor. Interestingly, these competitions were not limited to students. Teachers at Vianney High School, who had the talent and interest, were also allowed to join as participants, adding a unique and inclusive twist to the event!

After the exhausting routine of studying and exams, the class meeting served as a refreshing and enjoyable way to reignite the spirit. This event brought many exciting elements, offering inspiration to the entire Vianney High School community to foster a comfortable environment amidst the busyness of teaching and learning.

Students were undoubtedly thrilled to participate in this class meeting, which was held after the semester-end exams, right before report card distribution and the upcoming holiday break. Many of them freely expressed their feelings during the class meeting competitions, embracing the event with enthusiasm and joy.
